Handmade ceramic 12 ounce mug, white surface with blue flowers

This is one of the first mugs in a new line of mugs I am releasing. This mug has an alternative surface design to glaze. It is coated in a handmade product called, Terra Sigillata, which translates to Sealed Earth. Terra Sigillata is a liquid containing only the finest particles of clay. When applied over bone dry work, it changes and seals the piece in a fine layer of sealed clay. I then paint my signature blue flowers over the top of the terra sigillata and hand spray a clear glaze on top to add a layer of depth to the surface.
This mug is unique in shape as well. You will notice dips and notches in the side of the mug walls. Those are for you to find your 'just right' spot for holding. The handle is small, a two to three finger handle, but don't be deterred by that, the mug will fit snuggly into your hand and will find a home in your grasp.
My artistic mission is to make high quality handmade pottery that you use daily and enjoy. Slowing down and connecting to your routines can help you find deeper connections in life. By adding my pottery to your routine, it will invite you to slow down, observe and enjoy.
Each piece in my shop is thrown on the wheel or hand built by me in my small backyard studio.
All of my work is dishwasher safe, microwavable and easy to clean.
